Travel Documenter/Ebook Partner

When I started this website I did it to help a friend break into journalism and others who were also interested in travel writing. I still want to reach out to help those who want to tell stories around the world. Even more so, people who want to tell stories through video and photos.

I am working on a big project. I started an e-book project that is different than most e-books out there where this one creates interactivity. I have created interactive books in the past when working for Apple Inc. During the process of creating this ebook I found that it was too much of a task to take on alone. In the past I could lean on my teammates to when I needed help, but this website is just me alone.

I am looking for a partner in crime to travel with me to all of South America to share the responsibilities to document travels to later be put in an interactive ebook already in progress. It would take place in mid or late August for about 2 1/2 months. The trip would be paid for but you would have to work for it. The job will include the following:

 

• Contacting, communicating with and gaining sponsors for the project
• Researching locations and guides for destinations
• Documenting the trip through video and photography
• Helping with the development and design of the ebook
• Video editing, photo editing, writing for content
• Social Media and promotion of project
• Other varias tasks related to travel blogging/writing

 

As you can see the job asks for a lot from the person. That is why I am seeking a certain kind of person with certain skills sets. Someone I am looking for would have some of the following skills:

 

• Goal oriented and action oriented to see results from their actionable goals
• Creative and visionary
• Extrovert who can talk to strangers easily
• Ability to learn on the fly and from your mistakes
• Belief in our manifesto
• Understand the need for a good design/plan/organization
• Knowledge of Art/Photography/Videography is a plus
• Spanish or Portuguese language is a plus
• Knowledge of iMovie/Final Cut is a plus
• Knowledge of photo editing is a plus
• Knowledge of ebook authoring is a plus

 

The travel will be paid for through the sponsorships that we gain and partner will gain a contract being part owner of the rights to the book. There are a lot of benefits to this partnership including:
